Brian Magee is a southpaw who has won a series of titles at super middleweight.

The 36-year-old North Irishman started his professional career in 1999, making a big impact on the super middleweight scene with his run to a 22 - 0 record spanning five undefeated years.

During this time, the Lisburn-born fighter won both the IBO Intercontinental and IBO super middleweight belts in 2001.

Magee suffered the first of four career defeats in 2004 when, having defended his IBO super middleweight crown seven times, the North Irishman lost to Robin Reid.

The left-hander then lost a second bout in three fights, this time to Vitaliy Tsypko in July 2005 while challenging for the EBU super middleweight championship.

In May 2006, Magee failed to dethrone then British and Commonwealth champion Carl Froch, extending his fight record to 25 - 3.

2007 saw the Belfast-based fighter move up to light heavyweight, where he recorded his only career draw against Tony Oakey.

The following year Magee enjoyed great success, returning to super middleweight to win the British and European belts.

The Northern Irishman's fourth career defeat followed this good spell, however, as he failed in his attempt at Lucien Bute's IBF crown in March 2011.

Four months later, Magee won the interim WBA World super middleweight belt when he defeated Jaime Barboza.
