After spending his youth as a kickboxer, Huck made the switch to pro boxing in 2004 under Sauerland Promotions.
Huck was victorious in his first 16 fights - 12 of those coming by way of knockout - before he earned a shot at the European Cruiserweight Championship against Italian Pietro Aurino in 2006. The Captain scored a technical knockout win in the second to take his first professional title.

Huck bounced back the following year to win the IBF Intercontinental and European Cruiserweight belts before winning the WBO World Cruiserweight Championship in 2009. Huck's WBO win came by unanimous decision as he defeated Argentine Victor Emilio Ramirez.
The Captain's most recent fight saw him defeated by Alexander Povetkin as he challenged for the WBA World Heavyweight Championship LIVE on BoxNationTV.
