Robert Stieglitz is a German boxer born in Russia. The current WBO World Super Middleweight Champion, 30-year-old Stieglitz holds a 41 - 2 record.
The right-hander turned pro in 2001, winning the IBF Youth Light Heavyweight Championship the following year. In 2004, he dropped down in weight to win the IBF Youth Super Middleweight title before adding the IBF Intercontinental crown later that same year.
Stieglitz, it seemed, was destined for a world title, so it was perhaps a surprise when he lost a 2007 IBF World Super Middleweight challenge against Alejandro Berrio by way of a stoppage.
The German was again beaten in 2008, this time stopped by Librado Andrade in an IBF Super Middleweight title eliminator.
The Russian-born fighter is undefeated since, winning the WBC International and WBO World Super Middleweight titles in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
To date, Stieglitz has made five defences of his WBO World crown, and is expected to line up a sixth title defence in the near future.
