Rudy "Hardhitter" Markussen is a Danish super middleweight from Copenhagen.

The Dane turned professional in 1997 and registered a highly impressive 27 - 0 before he failed against Sven Ottke during an IBF super middleweight title challenge in 2002.

His next fight - against James Crawford almost a year later - saw him win the vacant Intercontinental super middleweight championship.

In 2004, Markussen won the vacant EBU super middleweight when he beat Danilo Haussler.

The Danish fighter's second career defeat came in 2006 at the hands of Sergey Tatevosyan as he was knocked out in the seventh.

Hardhitter then took a four-year hiatus from the fight game before returning to four consecutive victories in 2010 and 2011.

The Dane's most recent bout was LIVE on BoxNationTV as he was stopped in the fifth against Northern Irishman Brian Magee for the interim WBA World super middleweight title.
