Alexander Povetkin extends his unbeaten career record and retains the WBA World Heavyweight Championship as he beats Marco Huck on points in Stuttgart.
It was an enthralling fight brought to you LIVE and EXCLUSIVE by BoxNationTV. The two fighters traded blows throughout the 12 rounds, with Huck suffering cuts to his mouth and nose in the early rounds of the fight. Povetkin, the defending champion, suffered damage to his mouth which caused it to fall open for the majority of the contest.
The home favourite Huck - who was supported by a loud and frenzied Stuttgart crowd - appeared to cause the WBA World Champion problems with his aggressive and energetic approach. Russian Povetkin, who had a noisy travelling support behind him, was forced to hang in the fight at stages, and it appeared that Huck wasn't far from knocking out the World Champion.
Despite a feisty 12th round where the challenger really shook up his opponent, the fight went to the cards and Alexander Povetkin was handed the win after a thrilling night.
