Russian WBA World Interim Cruiserweight Champion makes short work of Shawn Cox as Denis Lebedev lands a second round knockout.
37-year-old Barbadian Cox was no match for his quick and powerful opponent, who delighted a home crowd assembled at Crocus City Hall in Myakinino, Russia.
Reigning WBA World Interim Cruiserweight Champion Denis Lebedev defends his title for the first time against 37-year-old Barbadian Shawn Cox.
Lebedev, 32, has an impressive 23 - 1 record, with his only career reversal coming in a 2010 split decision loss to Marco Huck when challenging for the WBO World Cruiserweight Championship.
The Russian has since recorded wins over Roy Jones Junior and James Toney, the latter bout seeing him win the Interim strap that he defends in the picturesque Crocus City Hall.
For Cox, this bout represents a first shot at a world title, albeit an interim one. The Caribbean southpaw, who brings a 16 - 1 record into the ring, has previously held the WBC Caribbean title, while he has also won 15 of his 17 bouts by way of knockout.
