A stunning first round knock out win by Golovkin.
Sitting back and countering Simon's advances played into Golovkin's strategy, and a heavy left hook after 137 seconds was all it took to take Simon down.
This was Golovkin's third successful defence of the WBA "regular" title, and has now won 19 of his 22 fights by knock out. This was only the second defeat of Simon's career - both defeats have been back to back.
Rescheduled from the 10th December this fight sees Golovkin, a fighter coming off the back of five knock out wins, face up to Lajuan Simon, who's won two of his last five fights.
Golovkin is yet to be defeated, winning an impressive 18 of his 21 wins through knock out. Simon squares up with 23 wins out of 29 fights, 12 through knockout.
Golovkin will be defending his Championship in the Intercontinental Hotel in Dusselsorf. This promises to be a truly exciting title fight against the Philadelphia-born Simon.
