WBC World Welterweight Title eliminator

Two-weight World Champion Danny Garcia returns to BoxNation to take on hard-hitting Ivan Redkach in a 12-round WBC Welterweight Title eliminator on Saturday 25th January in Brooklyn.

Garcia (35-2, 21 KOs) was last on BoxNation screens in September 2018, suffering a close points defeat to Shawn Porter.

He bounced back seven months later with a seventh-round stoppage of Adrian Granados and hopes to carry the momentum towards another World Title shot.

The 31 year old is a former two-weight World Champion. He lifted the WBC Super-Lightweight Title in 2012 after beating Erik Morales, and his stock began to grow as he made five successful defences against the likes of Amir Khan, Zab Judah and Lucas Matthysse, before moving north to 147lbs.

Ukraine's Redkach, who had over 300 bouts as an amateur, is 23-4-1 (18 KOs) after turning pro in 2009. He won 14 of his first 18 fights by stoppage and has won three on the bounce, including a knockout against former World Champion Devon Alexander last June.

Super-Welterweight contest

In the co-feature, former unified Super-Welterweight ruler Jarrett Hurd faces Francisco Santana.

Last May, Hurd (23-1, 16 KOs) was shocked by 5-1 underdog Julian Williams as he suffered the first knockdown of his career, losing his WBA and IBF Super-Welterweight belts.

Moments after the fight he expressed his desire for a rematch, which could take place if he beats Santana.

All-action Santana (25-7-1, 12 KOs) has been a contender throughout his career and is aiming to bounce back from a points loss to Abel Ramos just over a year ago.

He holds a win over Olympic gold medallist Felix Diaz (2018), but has been outpointed by Jermell Charlo, Jose Benavidez and Sadam Ali.
