Canelo prevails over Lara with tight split decision
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez had to
dig deep to leave the MGM Grand Garden with a 44th career win under
his belt. The 23-year-old Mexican sensation led on two scorecards,
which came back 115-113 and, generously, 117-111 in the

heavier, the Cuban was able to frustrate Alvarez at a 155lbs catch
weight which looked like a struggle for the Mexican to reach.
With his win, Alvarez now seems destined to move up to the
160lbs division where some intriguing contests await, including a
truly mouthwatering potential clash with WBC Champ Miguel
