Post fight review
The Charlo twins made history to become the first siblings to hold World Titles, in the same weight category at the same time.
After Jermall Charlo successfully defending his IBF World Title with a points victory over Austin Trout it was down to Jermell to collect the WBC Title to ensure history was made.
Despite being down on the cards, the "Iron Man" sensationally stopped John Jackson in the eighth round to claim the vacant WBC World Title.
Topping the show, Erislandy Lara put in a solid display to retain his WBA World Title with a convincing points win over Vanes Martirosyan, who had a point deducted late to seal his fate.
Our very own Liam Smith will be looking at a potential unification bout with one of the Charlo Twins in the 154 lbs division.
Pre fight preview
A night of triple World Title action is topped by Erislandy Lara’s WBA Super-Welterweight Title defence against Vanes Martirosyan.
It’s a rematch of their 2012 World Title eliminator which was cut short after Martirosyan shed blood in the ninth round after an accidental clash of heads which resulted in the contest being ruled a technical draw.
The pair have exchanged a war of words in the build up to the fight, reflecting on their past meeting. Now they can settle the score once and for all.
‘The Nightmare’ Martirosyan gets his second shot at World honours after coming up short against Demetrius Andrade at the back end of 2013.
Defending Champion Lara will be looking to make it four wins on the spin following his split decision loss to Canelo Alvarez in July 2014.
Victory for either man would put them in the frame for some lucrative options during the rest of 2016 and beyond.
Armenia born, Californian based Martirosyan could easily pass as a double for our very own Bradley Skeete! See for yourself come Saturday night!
