BoxNation presents another stunning night of action on Friday 21st June with a bill dubbed “Someone’s O Must Go,” live from Iowa.
The critically acclaimed Showtime boxing series, 'ShoBox: The New Generation' will feature six boxers with a combined record of 91 wins and just one defeat.
Since the developmental prospect series debuted in 2001, a total of 186 boxers have lost their undefeated record on ShoBox and at least two will go as we kick this weekend off with a bang.
In the main event, the tallest Super-Welterweight in history, 6ft 7in Sebastian Fundora (12-0, 8 KOs) battles Hector Manuel Zepeda (17-0, 4 KOs) over 10 rounds.
Michel Rivera (15-0, 10 KOs) from Dominican Republic takes on Mexico’s Rene Tellez Giron (13-0, 7 KOs) in an eight-round Lightweight bout.
The card opens with another eight round Lightweight attraction when Yeis Gabriel Solano (14-0, 10 KOs) faces Elias Damian Araujo (20-1, 8 KOs), the only man on the card with a loss to his name.
Nicknamed “The Towering Inferno” and trained by his father, the 21-year-old Fundora has knocked out his last four opponents.
“It's an honour to be the headliner on a ShoBox event,” said Florida’s Fundora whose all-action style has been compared to former World Champion Antonio Margarito.
“My opponent, Hector Zepeda, is from a respected Tijuana boxing family and he will be very tough. A victory over an undefeated fighter like Zepeda will be a big step forward for me.”
Zepeda, 21, has been a pro for five years and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Giovanny Gonzalez last month.
“This is the first opportunity that has been presented to me at this caliber,” Zepeda said.
“Fundora is a strong fighter, much taller than most. He loves to exchange blows and I am sure this is going to be a great fight."
