ShoBox: The New Generation

Three talented prospects risk their unbeaten records in the 250th edition of ShoBox: The New Generation, the critically-acclaimed Showtime Boxing series, live on BoxNation on Friday 17th January.

Unbeaten Super-Middleweight Vladimir Shishkin (9-0, 6 KOs) headlines against Ulises Sierra (15-0-2, 9 KOs) over 10 rounds.

Powerful Super-Lightweight Shohjahon Ergashev (17-0, 15 KOs) also returns to BoxNation screens, while Ja’Rico O’Quinn (13-0-1, 8 KOs) meets Oscar Vasquez (15-2-1, 3 KOs) at Super-Flyweight.

Shishkin was a standout amateur in Russia, winning 301 of his 330 fights before turning pro in the summer of 2016.

In October 2018 he put in a career-best showing to stop former World Title challenger Nadjib Mohammedi (TKO 10), before stopping DeAndre Ware in eight rounds on his US debut in August.

After just nine bouts, Shishkin has earned a number 12 ranking with the WBC. Another win could see the 28 year old move into the top 10 and target a World Title shot later this year.

Super-Lightweight contest

Uzbekistan powerhouse Ergashev returns to BoxNation against Adrian Estrella (29-4, 24 KOs).

In the unpaid ranks the southpaw had a 202-14 record, and as a professional he's blitzed through his opposition with nine of his 17 wins coming in the opening round.

Last February he was taken the distance by Mykal Fox – who had a five-inch height advantage – and was forced to display his boxing ability in the unanimous decision win. He added another stoppage to his impressive record in August when hammering Abdiel Ramirez in four rounds.

Both Ergashev and Shishkin are coached by Javan 'Sugar' Hill, the nephew of Hall-of-Fame trainer Emanuel Steward and new trainer of Tyson Fury.

Ergashev is currently ranked at six with both the WBA and IBF, and with unified World Champions Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez hoping to clash this year before possibly moving up in weight, the division could be wide open in 12 months' time.

Ja’Rico O’Quinn Oscar Vasquez

Super-Flyweight contest

Detroit prospect Ja’Rico O’Quinn takes on Oscar Vasquez (15-2-1, 3 KOs) over eight rounds.

The former number 1 US amateur Bantamweight compiled an impressive slate of 130-18 before turning pro in 2015. Now the 24 year old sits at number 10 with the WBO at 115lbs.

Vasquez, 32, earned 13 straight victories between 2012 and 2017 before a points loss in 2018 and majority draw last October halted his momentum.
