Francisco Vargas feels revitalised ahead of his World Title defence live on BoxNation this Saturday night against Miguel Berchelt.

The unbeaten warrior defends his WBC World Super-Featherweight Title against banger Berchelt in what promises to be an all-out Mexican civil war.

Following back to back ‘Fight of the Year’ winning performances against Takashi Miura in November 2015, who features on this undercard against Miguel Roman, plus the majority decision draw against Orlando Salido in June 2016 – Vargas took some time away from the ring to recover.

“I'm very excited to get back into the ring after a long break after my last two fights - two fights that were really hard,” admitted the 32 year old.

Speaking at the traditional pre-fight press conference to promote Saturday’s showdown, Vargas added: "After a much needed rest, I'm ready to give the fans what they want to see. Berchelt knows that this is his opportunity to get my title, and he will be hungry inside the ring and will wage war. This title cost me a lot to win, and I am not going to let it go easily. I'm taking my belt back with me."

The challenger Miguel Berchelt will be familiar to British fight fans with his recent stoppage victory over George Jupp and will be looking to land his first World Title after holding an interim belt.

"I want to thank 'El Bandido' for offering me this fight. I know going in that it's going to be a tough fight, and we are confident in our training and mind set going into this fight. This is a huge opportunity for me and my career."
