Top Rank chief Bob Arum has outlined plans for Terence Crawford’s next fight to land on Saturday 23 July, in a headlining PPV bout.
Crawford, who dispatched Hank Lundy in the fifth round of their recent fight live on BoxNation, has made it no secret his intentions to fight the best at his weight and has been recently linked with a mouth-watering dustup with Ruslan Provodnikov.
Speaking with FightHype, Arum revealed: “We have names in mind, we’re working on a very, very big opponent that’s more difficult than Provodnikov, we’ll see if we can come to terms.”
Touring Crawford around the country is part of Arum’s larger plans to turn the unbeaten, pound for pound superstar into a household name. Los Angeles looks set to be the next stop in this journey.
“It’s not a PPV we anticipate that will do 7/800k buys, it’s more 300k, but it’ll be a big PPV and some big fights on the card on July 23 maybe in Los Angeles,” explained the legendary promoter.
Touted as a potential hair to the Mayweather throne, the 28 year old switch hitting sensation so far has continued his impressive rise which is now fast approaching the top of boxing’s elite.
One gap in an otherwise perfect C.V is that real break out fight to kick him on a level, which looks like it may land come July.
