Vasyl Lomachenko will face the winner of this weekend’s BoxNation televised WBO World Lightweight Title clash between Ray Beltran and Jose Pedraza.
Bob Arum says that he expects the unification clash to take place in the United States on December 1st, giving BoxNation subscribers another classic to look forward to with the channel's exclusive output deal with Top Rank.
WBA Champion Lomachenko had hoped to face Beltran instead of Pedraza, but injury meant the fight was delayed.
"Lomachenko has proven he's a Lightweight by beating Linares and now he'll fight for another belt," says Arum who claims the Ukrainian is the best boxer he has seen since Muhammad Ali.
Arum also told Boxing Scene that Beltran and former IBF Super-Featherweight Champion Pedraza have both signed contracts agreeing to face Lomachenko if they win this week’s clash at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
It adds even more importance to Saturday night’s clash when Beltran makes his first defence of the title he won in February when he outpointed Paulus Moses.
Puerto Rican Pedraza will be having his third fight at Lightweight having moved up after losing his world title to Gervonta Davis in January 2017.
Lomachenko became a three-division World Champion in only his 12th fight back in May when he beat Jorge Linares despite suffering the shoulder injury that has sidelined him in the second round of that fight.
