Queensberry Promotions stars Paul Butler and Jamie Cox have both been called up to contest WBO World Title final eliminators in their respective weight divisions.
Butler, a former IBF World Bantamweight Champion, is now firmly back on the World Title trail after three successive stoppages victories in a row.
Current WBO World Super-Flyweight Champion Naoya Inoue is expected to vacate his title which could leave Butler fighting for World honours sooner rather than later.
Jamie Conlan, who is ranked just one place below Butler in the WBO order of merit, could be in line to complete a blockbuster showdown later this year.
Cox, the unbeaten Super-Middleweight, will have a keen eye on April’s WBO World Title fight between Arthur Abraham and Gilberto Ramirez.
It’s a welcome break and clear path for Cox who has been avoided following three destructive first round KO’s in succession.
The slick Swindon southpaw was eyeing the winner of Felix Sturm and Fedor Chudinov’s bout last weekend but the WBO title could offer the 29 year old the most direct route to a shot at World honours.
Details of both fights will be revealed in due course.
