Amir Khan believes that May 7’s super fight with Canelo Alvarez is on par with the two that got away.

“It’s as big as it could have been if I fought Mayweather or Pacquiao. Canelo is up there with the biggest names in boxing,” revealed Khan who was speaking with Golden Boy.

We’re under four weeks away from the big fight and the challenger is banking on his travelling support to help bring out that extra few percent in his game.

“They will come out in full force cheering me on. He’s a huge favourite in this fight but my fans will push me so hard to get me through and win this fight,” explained the former two time World Champion.

Victory for Khan would be one of the biggest upsets in recent years but the Bolton hero is relishing fighting on the biggest of stages.

“What makes it so exciting is the weight. I’m going up two weight divisions. He’s a dangerous opponent, I’m going in the lion’s den but I can make history,” said the 29 year old.
