WBC World Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez has acknowledged Amir Khan’s speed may play a big part come May 7’s super fight.

“This is a difficult fight, he’s very fast and elusive. He’s got a difficult style but I’ll train hard and be ready for him,” explained the flame haired Mexican.

Canelo, who fights Khan on the Mexican Holiday date Cinco de Mayo at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, has continued to reiterate that he’ll make adjustments in the gym to combat Khan’s explosive speed.

Speaking with Mike Baca from UCN, Canelo revealed: “I’ll work hard at it!”

When asked if there was a fight from his resume he’ll use to help prepare for Khan, the 25 year old stated: “Mayweather… Lara come to mind. Those are fights I think are going to be similar. I’m going to take that and learn for it, train and study his style.”
