Julio Cesar Chavez Jr’s long documented discipline and weight struggles seem to be behind him under his new World class trainer Nacho Beristain.
The Mexican cornerman is famous for training fighters such as Juan Manuel Marquez and Ricardo Lopez and Chavez new conditioning coach Memo Heredia has kept his weight in check.
The son of legendary Mexican fighter Julio Cesar Chavez has often had trouble making weight which led to an ill-advised jump from Middleweight to Light-Heavyweight. However, he seems to have had little trouble getting down to the 164.5lb catchweight this time, as the penalty for missing the weight was set at $1 million.
The former Middleweight World Champion is already down to 165.2lbs, only a day out from his blockbuster clash with Canelo and looks to make his significant size advantage count against his Mexican rival.
