WBC World Super-Flyweight Champion Carlos Cuadras believes he is too big for challenger Roman Gonzalez.
The pound for pound Nicaraguan sensation moves up in weight in a bid to become a four weight World Champion but Cuadras thinks it’s a step too far.
“Chocolatito is too small, I’m going to slap him around!” explained the unbeaten Mexican to FightHub.
Cuadras makes the seventh defence of his World Title, at the Forum in LA and will enjoy height and reach advantages.
Asked if he agrees that Gonzalez is pound for pound number one, Cuadras revealed: “I think he is number one but once he fights me, there will be a new number one right here!”
Gonzalez is admired for his ability to mix up his in the ring style, something that the defending Champion believes he can more than match.
“He has everything but so do I. Maybe our styles are a little different but I think I’m just as good as he is. I think I’m faster than he is. I can brawl or box with him if I need to. If we have to go at it, we’ll go at it!”
It will only be Cuadras’ second fight in the U.S and with a chance to impress on the bigger stage, ‘The Prince’ is looking to make a statement.
“I’m going to go in there and give it my all. It’s a great opportunity. I want to give a great fight for the fans! I’m very motivated.”
