*Note: WBC title on the line for Canelo Alvarez only, after Cotto allegedly failed to pay a WBC sanctioning fee.
Miguel Cotto insists he is ready to fight ahead of November 21’s Middleweight mega fight against Canelo Alvarez.
With the WBC World Title on the line adding further spice to the famous Mexican and Puerto Rican rivalry, the 35 year old has claimed “It’s just another fight, I just hope Canelo is ready for a good fight.”
It’s been a gruelling camp for the Champion, who played down the black eye that was clearly visible at the media day promoting the blockbuster clash.
“I’m a boxer, it’s just a sign of a good punch I received a couple of days ago. That’s all, nothing more,” revealed ‘Junito’ speaking to FightHub.
Cotto, feels his trainer Freddie Roach gives him the added edge and will guide him to victory at the Mandalay Bay come fight night.
“The biggest tool on my side is Freddie Roach, they know what he means in boxing and know what he’s capable of doing.”
A lot has been made of the ten year age difference between the two warriors and proved a talking point once more “People will have to wait and see if his age is better than my experience.”
Interestingly, despite the age gap, Canelo has had more professional fights than Cotto and more rounds in the bank.
