Pound for pound star Terence Crawford has dismissed claims this Saturday’s clash against Dierry Jean is merely a tick over fight.
Speaking with TopRank’s Crystina Poncher, two weight World Champion Crawford is set to make his first WBO Super-Lightweight defence after dismantling Thomas Dulorme for the vacant title back in April.
“I never take an opponent lightly, that’s why I always go in there 100% ready.”
Haitian-born Canadian Jean has just one loss, which came in his first World Title attempt against Lamont Peterson in January 2014.
“I look at Dierry Jean as a solid opponent. He’s a great counter puncher, he can come forward with big punching power,” stated the unbeaten Crawford.
Fighting once more in front of his home fans in Omaha, Nebraska the 28 year old revealed "I'm going to do my best and my best is going to be victorious."
The challenger boxes in the US for only the fourth time in a nine year career, opting for home advantage in Montreal for the majority of his 26 other career fights.
Victory for 2014’s ‘Fighter of the Year’ will unlock potential blockbuster fights in 2016 against the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Viktor Postol.
