Amir Khan believes he can conquer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez on May 7 to pick up the WBC World Middleweight Title.

“I really believe I have the skills, movement, speed and power to beat Alvarez. I want 2016 to be a big year. Stylistically it’s a great fight for me.”

Fans and pundits alike have suggested Khan’s speed is key to dethrone the flame haired Mexican Champion.

“I’m going to be smart in there, boxing him, sticking to my skills. I do believe if I hit him with a good, clean shot I can hurt him,” explained Khan.

Khan, who was speaking to Steve Bunce on Bunces Boxing Hour last Thursday played down reports that he requested 80% of the split with IBF World Welterweight Champion Kell Brook.

“I never went to Kell Brook’s team and said I wanted 80/20. Eddie Hearn said I can make about £10 million quid, so I stuck to that.”
