Ahead of the mouth-watering match-up between Liam Smith and Liam Williams in Manchester, the BoxNation fans have cast their vote for who wins on April 8th.
The Super-Welterweight showdown pits a former World Champion against an unbeaten British and WBO European Champion, on a stacked show featuring Terry Flanagan, Nicola Adams, Daniel Dubois and many more.
From the results of our Twitter poll, which received just below 4,000 votes, the fans believe the experience of Smith will be the difference at the Manchester Arena. A Smith stoppage was the most popular choice, closely followed by a Smith win on the scorecards. More voters believe Williams will earn a knockout win compared to out-pointing his domestic rival.
The undefeated Williams was named as Boxing Writers' Young Boxer of the Year for 2016 and will not be fazed with the underdog tag against Smith.
However, the bookmakers are struggling to split the pair. Most bookies price ‘Beefy’ as the 5/6 favourite, with Williams only marginally longer at even-money. The shortest odds available on Smith are 8/11, with 11/10 on offer for a Williams win, a price that will surely tempt plenty of the Clydach Vale faithful.
This has all the hallmarks of a Fight of the Year candidate. Watch the epic promo video below and tune in to BoxNation and BT Sport to see the battle to become Britain’s number one Super-Welter.
