The rivalry between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jnr continued with a Twitter tussle war of words on Wednesday evening.
WBO World Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders reminded fans that he took Eubank’s unbeaten record two years ago to the day before Eubank Jnr responded, sending the online boxing realm into overdrive as both men talked up a potential rematch.
Saunders defeated Eubank back in November 2014 on our ‘Bad Blood’ show to retain his European, British and Commonwealth Titles but since then a second fight has failed to materialise despite the willingness from Team Saunders.
Before this potential huge showdown, Saunders must first make a successful first defence of his World Title against Artur Akavov at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley, just outside of Glasgow this Saturday.
After issues with Akavov’s paperwork, promoter Frank Warren was given no option but to delay the bout originally scheduled for our big Cardiff show to the following week where there was already an event taking place. This was the only option before Christmas to get the fight on.
Warren intercepted the heated online jousting to state “a seven figure offer has been made” once more for Eubank to step back in the ring with the unbeaten WBO King.
The recent offer @ChrisEubankJr was made both to your manager and your personal email, so no one can say you haven't been made aware— Frank Warren (@frankwarren_tv) November 30, 2016
Fans will be licking their lips in hope the pair can once more lock horns but after several failed attempts to get the return on this year will be waiting to see if Eubank can find his pen first and foremost.
