Promoter Frank Warren believes Hughie Fury is 18 months away from a potential World Title shot.
The unbeaten Heavyweight has been added to April 30’s big show at the Copper Box Arena, featuring on Billy Joe Saunders’ undercard.
“I’m looking forward to working with him. It’s the first of many fights he’ll have with us,” explained Warren.
At just 21, Hughie boasts an impressive 19-0 record as he looks to embark on the next phase of his career.
Speaking with Kugan Cassius, Frank continued: “He’s a tremendous young talent. I think in the next 18 months or so, he’ll be challenging for a World Title.”
Fury picked up a points decision victory over the durable Dominick Guinn on Saturday night.
“His Dad has done a fabulous job with him. He got a nice ten rounds under his belt. It would have been difficult for him given the circumstances, but he done well.”
Cousin of the unified World Heavyweight Champion, Tyson, Hughie will have undoubtedly picked up invaluable experience in training.
“He’s a quality young fighter. Being in the camp he’s in with Tyson, he’s been around all that learning his trade. It’s all to his benefit,” concluded Warren.
