IBF World Super-Featherweight Champion Gervonta Davis got caught up in a heated exchange with American rival Tevin Farmer threatened to spiral out of control.

Davis, who defends his World Title against Liam Walsh on May 20th at London’s Copperbox Arena live on BoxNation, came face-to-face with Farmer shortly after Vasyl Lomachenko’s fight with Jason Sosa on Saturday night.

The pair exchanged verbals in Maryland and eventually had to be separated as Farmer goaded the unbeaten Champion Davis into a fight.

‘Tank’ Davis responded: “We got the belt! Why would I fight you? I’m the Champion and you’ve got four losses!”

Farmer has put together 17 wins in succession since defeat to Jose Pedraza, who Davis recently knocked out, is highly ranked with the World Boxing Council: “When I get my WBC [World Title], let’s unify straight away.”

The explosive Philadelphia southpaw agreed before taking to his Twitter account to reaffirm his desire to get the fight on.

First and foremost, Davis knows he cannot overlook mandatory challenger and Cromer hero Walsh, who will be looking to scupper this proposed fight.

Walsh put himself into World Title contention with a landslide, punch-perfect display over Andrey Klimov which secured his number one contender status back in October.

Tickets are out now for Davis v Walsh in London on May 20th.
