Unbeaten Super-Middleweight Gilberto Ramirez says Jesse Hart's trash-talk has provided added motivation ahead of his next WBO World Title defence.
On Friday night, the Mexican appears on the Top Rank card in Tucson, Arizona, which also features Oscar Valdez and Michael Conlan, live on BoxNation.
“Jesse Hart is a good fighter. A tough fighter," Ramirez said at a media workout this week. "He earned the right to be my mandatory challenger. But that does not give him the right to say bad things about me."
Hart is also undefeated, stopping 18 of his 22 opponents, making this bout an intriguing match-up. The Philadelphia fighter is the son of former hard-hitting Middleweight ‘Cyclone’ Hart.
In August, Hart was quoted saying that his opponent formed his impressive 35-0 record partly be “fighting guys that are 7-18” back home in Mexico.
"I do my talking in the ring," stated Ramirez. "On Friday night he will hear my response loud and clear!”
Ramirez won the belt in April 2016 after outpointing Artur Abraham. This will be the second defence of his title after he faced Max Bursak earlier this year, again winning on the scorecards.
