Unified IBF and Super WBA Middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin is craving for a super-fight.
The Kazakh KO King locks horns with unbeaten Dominic Wade on Saturday 23 April and knows he can’t take his eye off the ball with potential unification bouts looming.
Speaking at a pre-fight media workout, Golovkin revealed: “It’s a very important fight for me, he’s mandatory. My goal is all the belts in the Middleweight division, I want big names, and I need a big fight!”
Training up at Big Bear, the pound for pound puncher celebrated his 34th birthday last week in camp.
“It’s been very good, my preparation has been the same as the last couple of fights. Working hard and focusing.”
Golovkin returns to the Forum in Inglewood after a successful event against Willie Monroe Jr last year, with tickets very close to being sold out at an extended capacity.
“I’m very excited, I’ve lived in California for the last five years. It’s my second home. People love my style!” explained Gennady.
