The Kazakh KO King Gennady Golovkin has laid down the gauntlet to the other Champions in the Middleweight division by stating “My goal is all the belts in the Middleweight division”.
Speaking with Kugan Cassius of BoxNation’s weekly 'Cassius and Helder' show in New York at yesterday’s press conference, ‘Triple G’ remained focused ahead of Saturday’s unification fight.
“It’s very important for us, he’s the IBF World Champion,” continued the 33 year old.
New York’s famous Madison Square Garden hosts the bout and is a complete 20,000 capacity sell out.
Golovkin wouldn’t be drawn into looking at the winner of November 21’s huge bout between Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez, also live on BoxNation, but made it clear of his plans to become the undisputed Middleweight Champion.
“My focus is on David he’s a big step, the second step is to find out who is the number one Middleweight in the division”.
