Pound for pound sensation Roman Gonzalez has warned WBC World Super-Flyweight Champion Carlos Cuadras he’ll do his talking in the ring.

Defending Champion Cuadras has mocked Gonzalez’s nickname ‘Chocolatito’ in the build-up to Saturday’s showdown with the 45-0 Nicaraguan hero ready to demonstrate why he’s ranked number one in the Ring Magazine’s pound for pound order of merit.

Speaking at a pre-fight media day, Gonzalez revealed: “I know Carlos says a lot about my nickname but on Saturday night he will feel the fists of Chocolate.”

Closing on Rocky Marciano and Floyd Mayweather’s 49-0, Gonzalez insists he’s taking it one step at a time.

“I need to throw combinations and keep him off-guard to win the fight. I don’t think about other fights or how high I can move up. I just focus on Saturday night against Cuadras. I never think about losing, the only way I can lose is if somebody truly beats me, I won’t beat myself and I won’t overlook anyone.”

Bidding to become Nicaragua’s first four weight World Champion, the 29 year old paid homage to his legendary idol ahead of fight night.

“This fight is for all my people in Nicaragua and especially dedicated to my mentor, the great Alexis Arguello.”
