Promoter Frank Warren confirmed this morning that a contract has been signed for Hughie Fury to face WBO World Heavyweight Champion Joseph Parker.

Fury, unbeaten in 20 fights, is the mandatory challenger for the New Zealander’s belt and both fighters have now put pen to paper to set up the huge Heavyweight clash.

In December, Parker defeated Andy Ruiz on a tight majority decision to become the first New Zealand-born Heavyweight World Champion. The 25-year-old has stopped 18 of his 22 opponents and is already a star in his home country.

Now he faces a talented technician in Fury, who is back to full health after a damaging skin condition threatened to derail his career. Hughie will be aiming to restore the WBO World Title to the Fury family, after his cousin Tyson was stripped of the belt in 2015 after defeating Wladimir Klitschko.
