The WBO World Super-Lightweight Champion Terence Crawford has dismissed claims he was considering another route instead of fighting Viktor Postol.
The Omaha switch hitting sensation last week inked a deal to fight Postol, who holds the WBC version of the Super-Lightweight crown, in a mouth-watering unification fight.
“I laugh at people who said I was scared to take the fight and I was running from him!” stated the 28-0 Nebraska star.
Some comments at the fight announcement press conference were aimed in Crawford’s direction asking if he genuinely wanted this fight.
“I initially asked for the fight, Team Postol said they wanted two more fights then wanted it… But all that aside the fight is here and we’re ready to go!” explained Crawford, who was speaking to ThaBoxingVoice.
The 28 year old continued: “The only thing I can say is come fight night it’s going to be a spectacular fight!”
Postol’s trainer Freddie Roach has previously expressed an interest in matching Crawford with Manny Pacquiao, though ‘Bud’ is refusing to look past the unbeaten Ukrainian.
“Who knows? I don’t know what the man thinks or intentions are. My main focus is Postol not Pacquiao,” revealed the two weight World Champion.
