Pound for pound sensation Andre Ward is looking to clean up at Light-Heavyweight.
The self-proclaimed ‘Son of God’ fights Alexander Brand before a super-fight with the big punching Sergey Kovalev that has been agreed for later this year.
Kovalev, who fights Isaac Chilemba on Monday 11th July, holds the IBF, WBA and WBO versions of the World Title and is firmly in Ward’s firing line.
“The contracts are signed, we both have another fight that we have got to win. I believe it will be a showdown come November this year,” revealed the unbeaten star.
November 19th has been discussed as the proposed date with the bout taking place in either New York or the fight capital of the World, which is Ward’s preference: “I would love to bring that fight to Vegas.”
After moving up from holding World Titles at 168 lbs, the 2004 Olympic Gold medallist has bagged two wins at his new weight against Paul Smith and more recently against the previously unbeaten Sullivan Barrera.
“It’s a tall task and moving up in weight in general is not an easy thing to do. It’s not something that can’t be accomplished, it’s all locked in,” explained the 32 year old.
Ward had a clear message for the rest of the Light-Heavyweight division: “I’m coming for all the belts, it’s not going to be easy to get them but it never is!”
