British and Commonwealth Super-Welterweight Champion Liam Williams is counting down the days until his much anticipated domestic dustup with Gary Corcoran.

The pair clashed at the fight announcement press conference which added further spice to the intriguing contest and will come face to face at the pre-fight presser and weigh-in this week ahead of meeting in the ring.

“It was what it was, we’re going to fight each other and we both got a little excited. It’s all good, it’s just the name of the game and what happens,” explained the defending Champion.

Corcoran believes he got one up on the hometown hero, but the Welsh warrior was quick to dismiss the pre-fight antics insisting he’s ready for war.

Speaking to BoxNation’s Steve Lillis, Williams revealed: “No he definitely never got under my skin, obviously we both got a little wound up but nothing is going to throw me off. I’m going to be fully prepared come fight night, I can’t wait to go!”

The unbeaten pair lock horns in one of the most eagerly awaited bouts this year with the winner set to push on and throw their name in the hat for a shot at World honours.

Williams believes he has the edge going into the contest, on a show which will see two World Title fights top the bill in front of the Cardiff Ice Arena, live on BoxNation.

“His record speaks for itself really, a couple of good wins in his last fights. He’s got a good engine, throws a lot of punches and also takes a lot of risks. I think that will be his downfall against myself, I think he’ll walk onto some big shots.”

When pressed for a fight prediction, the 23 year old is backing himself to preserve his 0: “I believe I’m going to win, I’m going in there and planning on knocking him out!”
