Undefeated Light-Heavyweight Anthony Yarde is already ranked in the top 10 by the WBO. His promoter Frank Warren is keen for an all London clash with Frank Buglioni - the best Light-Heavyweight in the country on paper. The British Boxing Board of Control however, ordered for an eliminator against Hosea Burton who the promoter thinks would be a step backwards. Burton was knocked out by Buglioni in December 2016.

Speaking to iFL TV, Warren was passionate that Buglioni was being steered in the wrong direction in giving up a career high payday to avoid ‘The Beast’: “Yarde is the only one with a world ranking, why on earth do I want him to fight Hosea Burton who got knocked out by Frank Buglioni! I want him to fight Buglioni.

“Ask anyone, any of the press what would they rather see, Yarde vs. Burton or Yarde vs. Buglioni. It’s a no brainer, it’s what everyone wants to see. I know Yarde beats Burton and if Buglioni takes a fight in between that means we’re nine months away, [Yarde] will be beyond that!”

‘Wise Guy’ holds the British Light-Heavyweight Title, but Warren isn’t even sure Yarde needs to fight for it, given how confident he is in the quick progression of Yarde, “Forget about the British Title, I only want that because Buglioni is the number one Light-Heavyweight in the country on paper.

“I made Frank Buglioni a huge offer last week, more money than he’s ever earned in any fight, to fight Anthony. Forget about the British Title, fight for that top 10 [world ranking].”

Frank then appealed directly to the British Champion, “You know what I’m going to do, Frank I’ll give you 20,000 pounds on top of the offer I’ve made you to fight Anthony Yarde. Don’t listen to those advisors around you!”

Watch Anthony Yarde step back into the ring on September 16th on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders v Willie Monroe Jr at the Copper Box.
