Heavy-hitting Mark Heffron is stepping down to Middleweight and believes he has the power to take out British Champion Tommy Langford.
Unbeaten Heffron has boxed at Super-Middleweight so far in his career, but told the BoxNation Podcast that he is chasing the 'Baggies Bomber'.
"Well I'm only a fight away from fighting Tommy Langford for the British. Got this fight 19th of May. Hopefully it'll be the fight after that or one more then I'll be fighting Tommy Langford," said the 26-year-old.
Nicknamed 'Kid Dynamite', Heffron has racked up 14 stoppages in his 18 victories and he believes he would put Langford to sleep if they fought.
Langford made the first defence of his British Title in Manchester earlier this month, earning a unanimous decision victory over Jack Arnfield.
"Definitely, 100% I'd beat Tommy Langford. Tommy Langford knows that. I can't wait for it! As soon as the fight comes I'll be grabbing it with both hands.
"I expect Tommy to run, I'll be chasing him," he predicted. "I'll be cutting down the ring and knocking him out!"
"It's a fight I'd love to see," Steve Lillis said on the podcast. "One thing critics used to say about Mark was 'what happens if they're still there after three rounds, he'll run out of ideas'.
"He was the first man ever to stop Lewis Taylor. Going a few rounds and showing that he can still do that in the seventh round said a lot."
