Soon after battering Lamont Peterson in Brooklyn, Errol Spence once again had a message for fellow Welterweight Champion Keith Thurman.

Spence made the first defence of his IBF World Title on Saturday night with an eighth-round TKO. With 'The Truth' dominating proceedings, Peterson's trainer Barry Hunter decided he had seen enough and pulled his man out.

23-0 Spence hopes to unify against WBC and WBA 'Super' Champion Thurman, who after the fight tweeted, "be patient, your time is coming".

"Y’all know it’s strap season. Y’all seen that dude Keith Thurman. He gonna do a post. We ain’t waiting on Keith," Spence said in response. "I’m going to smoke him easy. He ain’t talking about nothing."

The Texas talent plans to defend his belt in Dallas in a summer homecoming, most likely against a mandatory challenger, before aiming to secure a unification later this year.

Meanwhile Thurman is planning to return from an injury layoff in the spring, and Terence Crawford is rumoured to be taking on WBO titlist Jeff Horn in April.
