Legendary trainer Freddie Roach is gearing up for July 23’s big unification bout between Terence Crawford and his man Viktor Postol.

“I’m really excited about this fight, it’s a 50/50 fight on paper between two very good boxers,” explained Roach to TopRankTV.

Postol defied the odds to stop Lucas Matthysse last October and become the new WBC World Super-Lightweight Champion.

In his first defence, the Ukrainian fights pound for pound sensation Terence Crawford, who holds the WBO version of the World Title.

“This is the best fighting the best, boxing needs this. There’s nothing better than watching two great fighters go at it!”

The Wild Card Gym owner believes the fight could be won and lost in the corner: “I’ll come up with a great game plan, Viktor is a great boxer and thinker. We’ll be 100% ready come fight night.”

To counter Crawford’s tricky switch hitting style, Roach has drafted in the help of unbeaten Welterweight Frankie Gomez.

“Frankie is one of the sparring partners. He switches quite a bit,” revealed Roach.
