Pound for pound sensation Roman Gonzalez has revealed he may have to move up to Super-Flyweight in order to secure superfights.

BoxNation subscribers will be able to witness the unbeaten, 44-0 hitman make the fourth defence of his WBC World Flyweight Title against McWilliams Arroyo this Saturday as chief supporting on the big Golovkin v Wade card.


Speaking through an interpreter at the traditional pre-fight media work out, Gonzalez revealed: “My goal is to win on Saturday but it’s hard to find rivals, I would be interested to move up to 115lbs.”

The fight fans and pundits alike would crave to see would be against Naoya Inoue, the young Japanese WBO Super-Fly king who has just broke into the Ring Magazine’s pound for pound top ten rankings.

‘Chocolatito’ has played down reports that changing his training camp from his native Nicaragua to Puerto Rico for the Arroyo fight may play a part in the result.

“No it’s not a distraction, it’s a motivation. I understand I need to fully focus.”

Widely regarded as the number one pound for pound fighter in the world, when quizzed who he believes is number two – the classy 28 year old responded: “Golovkin.”
