Oscar De La Hoya has praised the AT&T Stadium in Dallas ahead of hosting September 17th’s big fight between Canelo Alvarez and Liam Smith.
“It’s the best stadium in the country. Canelo is the best fighter on the planet today, when you have the best and the best you can’t go wrong. We had the pleasure of visiting and it is beautiful. People are going to enjoy it,” explained the Golden Boy Promotions chief.
ES News caught up with De La Hoya who was speaking alongside Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
“We’re going to pack the house and it’s going to be a lot of fun!” revealed the 1995 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year.
Manny Pacquiao outclassed Joshua Clottey at the iconic stadium back in March 2010 in front of 41,000 spectators.
Jones added: “We’re proud of our stadium. When I had the Pacquiao fight, I had so many letters from Cowboys fans saying how much they appreciated boxing in Texas. Since we’ve announced the fight the ticket sales have been tremendous.”
