Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham admits his World Title shot against reigning WBO World Cruiserweight Champion Krzysztof Glowacki is a tough ask, but is quietly confident of causing an upset.

The pair lock horns as chief support to Errol Spence Jr’s fight with Chris Algieri, live on BoxNation on April 16.

Spence v Algieri

It’s Glowacki’s first World Title defence, something the experienced Cunningham is looking to use to his advantage.

"This isn't new territory for me just a new opponent. We don't look past anybody and we're ready for this one. It's war time!” revealed the 39 year old.

After holding the IBF version of the Cruiserweight crown on two occasions, Cunningham knows this is potentially his last chance to become a three time World Champion as his 16 year pro career edges closer to a natural conclusion.

"I know he's driven, but I'm driven also. I've fought all over the world. It's new fighting close to home,” explained Cunningham.

Glowacki boasts 16 stoppages from his 25 fight unbeaten record and the challenger believes the fans could see a brutal contest: "Glowacki is a formidable foe. He made a big splash in his U.S. debut. We're going to get together and make some fireworks!”

The Polish puncher sensationally put a halt to Marco Huck’s World Title defence streak back in August last year but suffered an injury which has delayed his return to the ring.

"It was very frustrating to have the injuries that I had. I couldn't do anything. The silver lining is that I'm so unbelievably hungry to return. I'm even hungrier than usual,” expressed the 29 year old.

The defending Champion echoes the challenger’s thoughts that this fight could steal the show: “I'm going to deliver another great fight. Both the Polish and American fans are going to be in for an explosive contest!"
