Floyd Mayweather is backing Adrien Broner to once again lift World honours.

After losing to both Marcos Maidana and more recently Shawn Porter, Broner has bagged World Titles in the aftermath of defeat and the self-proclaimed ‘TBE’ is backing ‘The Problem’ to push on after losing his latest World Title on the scales.

Speaking at the press conference for Broner’s fight with Adrian Granados, Mayweather revealed: “I’m proud of Adrien Broner. It was a minor setback for a major comeback. I don’t want him to overlook Granados. It’s an important fight.”

Broner locks horns with former sparring partner Granados in which Mayweather believes has the potential to be “an action packed fight” live on BoxNation, Saturday 18th February.

“It’s two hungry lions. That’s what it’s all about, giving people the entertainment. It’s a good matchup. Neither is a push over. It’s what boxing is all about, the best fighting the best.”

Mayweather will co-promote the event in partnership with ‘About Billions Promotions’ and believes the match up will be a fan friendly affair.
Speaking with his promoter’s hat on, Floyd revealed: “We’re always looking for the next PPV star, both of these fighters have potential to step up and achieve that.”

Despite his out of the ring troubles, Mayweather is urging Broner to put the work in and show his early promise.

“He’s very flamboyant, very outspoken but still young. He’s got to go out there day in and day out and prove he’s the best.”
