Unbeaten Super-Middleweight World contender Jamie Cox has put his name into the mix to fight the newly crowned WBA ‘regular’ Super-Middleweight Champion Giovanni De Carolis.

The 31 year old Italian stunned the Sauerland brothers’ hot prospect Vincent Feigenbutz with an eleventh round stoppage on Saturday night to claim the vacant World title.

Fedor Chudinov had been upgraded to ‘Super’ Champion following Andre Ward’s move to Light-Heavyweight, freeing Feigenbutz and De Carolis to contest the belt.

The slick Swindon southpaw took to his Twitter page following the result "Let's go Italy or anywhere and fight this Carolis. Let's bring one more belt back.”

With six defeats on his record, there’s sure to be a queue of 168 lbs fighters queuing up eager to face De Carolis.

Ranked #13 in the most recent WBA order of merit, the November ‘Punch of the Month’ winner Cox could be in line for a shot should the new Champion opt for a voluntary title defence either at home or on the road, there’s sure to be some lucrative and forthcoming options.
