Former Light-Heavyweight World Champion Jean Pascal has spent a few days at the renowned Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles.
"It was a trial run. Jean wanted to come and see how it was here," explained legendary trainer Freddie Roach, speaking to Boxingscene.com's Steve Kim.
Pascal, who is seeking a new coach, comes off the back of a tough ten round victory over the previously unbeaten Yunieski Gonzalez in July.
His next fight will be crucial should Pascal wish to get back into the World Title mix at 175 pounds.
A third, rubber match with Bernard Hopkins, which had been mooted, is reportedly not on the Haitian-born Canadian’s agenda.
"I offered Jean some sparring with Denis Lebedev. They can help each other ahead of their next fights," continued Roach who is waiting to hear back from Pascal if the pair will link up in a more full time facing environment.
"He's interested. I'll find out in a couple of days either way," Roach added, who starts camp with Miguel Cotto next Monday ahead of November’s super fight with Canelo Alvarez.
