Artur Beterbiev has been warned to expect “fireworks” by big fight rival Radivoje ‘Hot Rod’ Kalajdzic in Stockton, California on Saturday 4th May, live on BoxNation.
IBF Light-Heavyweight Champion Beterbiev is the only current World Champion with a 100% career knockout ratio winning all 13 fights inside the distance.
But the Florida-based Bosnian is ready to smash that stat and also end the Russian banger’s reign.
Beterbiev will be making his second defence, but his challenger warned: “I see flaws. I’m pretty sure he hits hard, but I got a game plan and I’m going to execute it.
“I expect fireworks, man. I am a pressure fighter. I put pressure. I come forward. He obviously comes forward and he has all knockouts.
“I think it will be a fun fight for the fans. I always push the issue. I press and he does the same thing, so it’s going to be a good fight.”
Kalajdzic has fought exclusively as a professional in the United States since turning professional in June 2011, while his only loss in 25 fights was a split decision defeat against American star Marcus Browne three years ago.
The Browne defeat was controversial with a disputed first round knockdown when Kalajdzic claimed he slipped the difference at the final bell.
“I have speed, power, and smarts. It’s going to be my night. I’m going to work out my game plan and do what I think is the best thing to get the win,” he told Fight Hype.
“I’m going in there not even worried about his power because at Light-Heavyweight, all of the top guys hit hard with 10 oz. gloves on.
“He got dropped in his last fight, so we all hit hard. It’s the punches you don’t see that hurt, so I’m going to do my thing and execute my game plan. I got a couple of different things that I’m going to do if the first or second thing isn’t working.”
