Big punching Light-Heavyweight king Sergey Kovalev is looking forward to an inevitable blockbuster clash with Andre Ward at the end of the year.
Reflecting on Ward’s victory over Sullivan Barrera on Saturday night, the unified Light-Heavyweight Champion revealed: “It was a very good performance.”
The ‘Krusher’ was sitting ringside in Oakland to witness Ward’s wizardry up close and personal for the first time.
When quizzed by FightHub if he could beat the self-proclaimed ‘Son of God’ - Kovalev jokingly responded “I hope!”
“It’s going to be difficult for both of us, but very interesting” the IBF, WBO and WBA World Champion respectfully answered.
November has been ear marked for the potential showdown with both men looking to have a fight in between.
“I’m the Champion. Would I fight him here in Oakland? Why not… Though it’s not a very big arena. It’ll be fairer in somewhere like Las Vegas or the legendary Madison Square Garden, I’ve never fought there.”
Kovalev, like Ward, boasts an impressive, unbeaten resume and is on the lookout for his next foe.
“If Sullivan Barrera is ready to fight, I’m ready too! I want a stay busy fight first. My wish is to have four fights a year,” confessed the 32 year old banger.
