Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders have both predicted they’ll win when they collide for the WBO World title on December 19th.
Speaking at a press conference in London, Irishman Lee compared his strength to current divisional star Gennady Golovkin.
“I'm a big strong Middleweight and I punch as hard as Golovkin. If I beat Saunders I'd go for Golovkin next, his reputation is bigger than what he is,” Lee said.
“The loser has to live with this fight for the rest of our lives. The world title is the world title, it's going to take a very good man to take the title from me. This is the main fight, the great fight of 2015.” The Irishman continued.
“This is an excellent bill, and it's great to see Liam and Terry defending their world titles
“Eubank and Spike are two guys who talk a lot but this is the main fight between two Olympians for a world title.”
22-0 star Saunders insisted that he had earned the right to challenge Lee.
“The reason I'm in the position I am is because I've beat all the British fighters,” Saunders said.
“At domestic level I have cleaned up already, now it’s on to world level. I've already beaten all the domestic guys and I’ve only been training for 6 weeks.”
Speaking about the mouthwatering domestic showdown, legendary promoter Frank Warren said he couldn’t wait to see who would be crowned Britain and Ireland’s top middleweight.
“On the 19th December we will find out who the best middleweight in the UK and Ireland is,” Warren said.
“This is a proper, even money fight.”
