Ever since their first fight ended in controversial circumstances, Super-Welterweight rivals Liam Smith and Liam Williams have continued their war of words.

The rematch is set for October 28th at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, but this weekend the pair exchanged more heated verbals on Twitter. Welshman Williams took exception to a tweet arguing that Manchester, where the first fight took place, was a neutral venue.

"Nice to see you have a mouth for this one," fired Smith, to which Williams responded: "I've always had a pair of balls...just realised your (sic) a pri*k that's all!"

On April 8th, then-unbeaten Williams was in control of the early stages of the bout, but 'Beefy' rallied late on.

In the ninth round, a clash of heads left Williams with a nasty wound on his right eye and was pulled out, but it appeared the cut may have opened up prior to the incident.

"U quit, with that crying face feeling sorry for yourself once u seen abit of blood. U cudnt (sic) beat me on my worst night," fired Smith.

In response, Williams asked: "Do you think it's wise to go on with a bad cut that could have possibly blinded me?" referencing advice from a doctor.

After the gash opened up on Williams eye, trainer Gary Lockett pulled his charge out of the contest. "I can't let a fighter fight with that," stated Lockett in a post-fight interview.

Fans immediately demanded a rematch and their wish has been granted for October 28th. Ticket details will be released soon.
