Speaking ahead of his WBC World Light-Welterweight Title fight against unbeaten Viktor Postol this Saturday night LIVE on BoxNation, Lucas Matthysse believes it’s his time to shine.
BoxNation favourite Matthysse revealed "I've been fighting the best in my weight division, I deserve my chance for this title".
Following on from the majority decision win over Ruslan Provodnikov back in April’s fight of the year contender, the WBC put Matthysse’s name forward to fight the mandatory challenger Postol for the vacant title after Danny Garcia vacated his belt.
Postol, now trained by Freddie Roach, has a considerable height advantage over "La Máquina", but the Argentine has prepared to combat these physical challenges.
"Viktor has an advantage over me in height and I understand that and have been preparing for that. I know I need to keep my distance to make sure I'm not reached. I feel my training has been accommodating all of those challenges for this fight and I am ready," stated the 33 year old.
The serial knock out artist will be looking to end "The Iceman's" unbeaten record, which stretches back to 2007.
Tune in to BoxNation on Saturday night at 2am for live coverage of Lucas Matthysse v Viktor Postol.
